Stock your cleaning cabinet with:
White vinegar
Baking soda
Club soda
Lemon juice
Liquid castile soap
Borax. This mineral salt beats bleach as a toilet cleaner and is also useful for scrubbing walls. ...works with laundry, too.
Rubbing alcohol. Works as a disinfectant and is a great glass cleaner. It also gets grime off plastic and metal surfaces like patio furniture or bathroom fixtures.
For all-purpose cleaner: 1/2 tsp baking soda + a dab of castile soap in a spray bottle with 2 cups very hot tap water. Shake to dissolve. The spray will keep indefinitely.
For bathroom cleaner: 1/2 cup baking soda + enough liquid soap to achieve frosting-like consistency (for scouring).
Club soda can be used on plumbing fixtures.
For toilet cleaner: sprinkle baking soda or pour white vinegar into the toilet and let sit for a few minutes, then scrub with toilet brush.
For glass cleaner: club soda in a spray bottle...scrub with terry cloth cotton. Add 1 tsp lemon juice to increase the degreasing power.
